Biography

Stafford, a farmer by heart from Dumfries & Galloway, joined Ayr Rugby club and made in instant impact, winning the Ayr RFC 'Young Player of the Year' award during the 2106/17 season and catching the eye of the National selectors.

After representing Scotland at U18 and captaining the U20’s at the 2018 Junior Rugby World Cup, Stafford went on to sign a full professional contract with Glasgow Warriors. His impressive form in the Warriors midfield during the 2018/19 saw him rewarded with the accolade of Land Rover ‘Young Player of the Season’.

At 6ft 4in, Stafford is an imposing figure on the rugby pitch and has gone on to become a regular starter at centre as well as offering a solid option at full-back. For a big man, his style of play is very subtle, combining an abrasive and powerful approach with skilful handling and tactical kicking.

Highly regarded as thoughtful and considerate, when time allows, Stafford will regularly go back home and help his father run the family farm.
